Sadia Anwar is a creative entrepreneur and a mother of 2. Sadia has a background in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi, India, and a business degree from the London Business School in the United Kingdom. She worked as an architect and lighting designer for 12 years before making the shift to entrepreneurship.

She is quite passionate about children’s books and the content consumed by children, she is a self-published author of 4 children’s books. She is the founder of two startups that address issues of identity and diversity in different ways. The second of these is Storically, a project that began because of an unexpected win at a weekend pitch contest.

In this episode, we talk to Sadia about her journey from being an architect for 12 years and taking the leap into entrepreneurship. We talk a lot about the importance of stories and storytelling for kids’ development as well as the importance of diversity and inclusion in our society.

“My mission historically, is for children or I guess even adults, for people to be aware of their own personal histories, to connect with their own heritage, to know details like where your grandmother went to school, what she did, what adventures she had.”
